How many sets per
battery?
The machine will do two sets x
600-800 metres or
one set x
1300-1400metres. We recommend that you use a 12 volt DC regulated battery
charger.

2.
How long do you leave the line set?
Leave the line out for only about an hour
otherwise you tend to attract sharks to the fish already caught.

3.
Can you steer the Kentiki?
Yes. There are 11
holes on a delta at the rear of the machine. Attaching your line to
different holes allows the Kentiki to tack into the wind and waves
(or the drift if there's no wind).
This diagram shows what
should happen when you place your line shackle in any of the holes
provided in the steering delta. After determining which way the
drift is going you need to make a choice of which hole to use.
Generally speaking if you were looking from the rear of the machine,
if you use a hole on the left hand side of the centre, the machine
will pull into the drift toward the left.
Similarly a setting on
the right hand side will pull the machine to the right hand side.

4.
Does the Kentiki have a timer?
Yes. You can control
where your hooks are on the sea floor by time/distance. The timer
can also be used to do a very short run (i.e. 2-3 minutes) to test
the direction of the drift etc before the main set.

5.
What is the maximum number of hooks allowed?

strongly urge all fishers to make themselves familiar with all rules
& regulations before commencing fishing. See
New Zealand Fishing
Regulations.
